A Garden of Wonder

We are suffering from another heat wave this week. I've had some time off work so I am visiting my parents for a few days. It is hot inside, though there is a nice cool breeze outside. My Mum did not want me taking photos of her garden as it is dry and arid according to her! I think it is still lush and lovely. The trees are so big now compared to the naked garden when we first moved in 16 years ago.

Paper & Glue

A while ago I came across this lovely book full of papery craft inspiration. It is called Paper Bliss by Skye Rogers (a fellow Aussie!). This bowl is a paper mâché project from the book. Perfect to keep my numerous amount of jewels in.

I have also made these paper mâché vases as well. They are old milk cartons covered in map paper. I love the fact there is paper mâché for grown ups!

To my Number One Fan; look what is coming your way!

High Tea for Me

I was playing around with my tea cup collection and decided to set the table for a high afternoon tea (I need to make the most of the clear table as when I am at uni it is covered in my work!). The blue gingham table cloth was found at a second hand market. I have been collecting the tea cups over the years from op shops and markets. Some are new purchases as well. I can tell you are admiring the cake stand. I collected three vintage plates and my house mate turned them into a cake stand by drilling holes through the middle and connecting the plated together with the silver pieces. The doilies are from my Aunty and Uncle’s wedding last summer. She found a bunch in an op shop and dyed them blue to match the wedding theme. They ended up in my bag at the end of the night…

Joyful Finds

I spent a Saturday afternoon browsing the stalls at some second hand markets. I stumbled across this little book on the development of trains over the years. I though it would be the perfect gift for when my brother Leigh begins high school. He is a huge train fanatic. It is a sweet book and beautifully illustrated.
