Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Well Christmas is over now in Australia, but my family celebrations continue over into Boxing Day. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and ate lots of yummy food. I know I did!

On Cloud Nine

I love cushions. I think they make a room and add heaps of colour. Here are some of the cushions in my bedroom. They go with the blue and pink theme with a touch of green I have. Some of the material is from Spotlight and the others are by Tanya Whelan.

My Mum is a good sewer and she whips them up for me. Though I am in the process of convincing her to teach me how to sew (I never did well on the old machines in high school textile class and she is worried I will break her machine!).

Dots and Spots

Here is a cheerful Christmas Card I made for the Scrapbook Boutique challenge. The bauble was made by folding in half five circles then sticking the sides together.

Take the time to smell the roses...

Yet again I've done a Crafty Sketches sketch. And here is my layout. I love the new My Mind's Eye papers!

Roses Are Red...

I celebrated my 22nd birthday a couple of week ago. The weather was nice and warm so my Mum, brother Leigh and I had a picnic at the State Rose Garden then toured around the historic Werribee Park Mansion. I have been meaning to go there for years and I absolutely loved it. Stay tuned for more layouts…

Hello hello hello!

It's been a while since I have updated so I thought I would show you what I have been up to. Here are some beautiful photos of the Dutch  Iris in my Mum's garden. They are my favourite flower and always bloom around my birthday too. I love the intense purple and I tried to capture that in my layouts.

I also took a photo of my brother with his face painted at the Kaiser Craft Carnival that was on in the September school holidays. I bought so much paper and I am all ready for my Christmas crafting!

Grad

I've had such fun scrapping my Graduation photos. This one was inspired by this months colour challenge over at Scrapbook Boutique. The colours go well with the colour of my robe and saash.

Beep Beep!

How cute is this alarm clock? It's a vintage remake that I brought from the Mill Markets. Unfortunately the alarm sound is modern, not the bell, but I love it anyway!

Fun Festa

Each year I take my bother to his school's Family Fun Festa. It's a special thing the two of us do together, and have been doing for the past few years.

I scrapped this photo of us on the tea cup ride using a sketch from Crafty Sketches.

Pretty papers

For this months challenge at Scrapbook Boutique this image was inspiration:

and here is my layout:

It's been a while since I've done a Kaiser Craft Saturday Sketch from their blog. I LOVE the Miss Nelly collection so I had a lot of fun with this sketch. The sketch I used was September 'Monday Make Up Sketch'.

1995

For the current Once Upon A Sketch challenge you had to scrap a memorable event and include the year as a title. I chose 1995 which was the year I started school. I look so tiny!

I found this photo when I was digging through my Mum's box of photos a couple of months ago. I love how I am holding hands with my little sister. I wounder how long it took Mum to get us to hold hands?

The Bluff

I've done another Crafty Sketches layout from the sketch on their blog. The photos here were taken when I walked around the Barwon Heads Bluff when the tide was out. I love how wild and rugged the Bluff looks. I had to keep an eye on the tide though because if it came in I would be trapped! There is no way to get back to the beach after the tide comes in!

Tea Time

I made these adorable paper tea cups for The Shabby Tea Room's weekly challenge (http://theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/2011/08/week-74-tea-for-two.html). I love them! I gave them to my Mum for her birthday. She is a big tea drinker and collects tea cups and saucers. This is something that she has passed down on to me- the tea cup collecting, I myself am a coffee drinker!

Crafty Sketches

I've done a layout for Crafty Sketches August sketch (http://craftysketches.blogspot.com/2011/08/august-sketch.html).

Once Upon a Sketch challenge

For this fortnights Once Upon a Sketch challenge (http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/august-1st-challenge-meet-our-guest.html)
the journalling criteria was to finish the line; "A perfect day is...". I chose a picture of the Barwon River and flipped the sketch around. My journalling reads:
"A perfect day is spent walking along the Barwon River and the beach, feeling the wind       in my  hair and sand at my feet."

Altered Frames

I have been working on this collection of frames for a while and finally they are done! I sanded the frames and painted them white. Then I created little works of art to go inside the frames using paper, flowers and pictures of vintage ladies. The frames are now hanging in a group on my bedroom wall.

Pretty Vintage

Here are a selections of layouts I've made recently. I love the pretty papers and paper flowers.

Once Upon a... Sketch

I thought I would have a go at the Once Upon A Sketch layout challenge on their blog. The journal criteria was a quote and mine says:

And forget not that the Earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair"

by Kahlil Gibran. I think it goes well with the photo.  I flipped the sketch on the side. Here is the link for their blog post:

Barwon Heads

I feel very blessed to live near the coast. I love the sea, especially in winter; it is so fierce and alive. These photos were taken on a sunny day from the lookout on the Barwon Heads bluff. I love the sun shinning on the water.

This is a sketch from Anna’s Craft Cupboard blog (http://www.annascraftcupboard.com.au/blog/?p=10432).

I have created a layout using the Bo Bunny sketch challenge. The materials I used are:

  • a flower punch,
  • scrunched flowers and,
  • a folded flower in the centre.
  • The papers I used are Bo Bunny's flutter Butter collection.

June's Prima Product Pick

PPP June

Fresh, summery brights make their way to our Prima Pick this month! These color choices and products are sure to make you HAPPY!

These are some images of new Prima products for those in summer in the northern hemisphere. They remind me of warm sunny days while I am freezing during an extra cold spell down in Victoria!
