Sunday Drive
Here are some photos I took of the country on the way to my grandparents farm a couple of weeks ago...
Classic Chic
Hello dear readers.
You will have noticed a lot of my posts lately are fashion related. This is because work and uni has pretty much taken over my life at the moment. However before starting my new job I had the fun experience of buying a new wardrobe for work! I love the whole vintage, classic, stylish chic look. But with a dash of colour and funk. It must be the artist in me trying to escape.
This cute red and blue skirt is a favourite from Dangerfield. I usually wear it with a grey top. The red cardi goes well and I also wear it with a royal blue blazer sometimes too.
And of course one needs to rug up nice and warm before venturing outside in the Victorian winter weather.

Crazy pattern
So I went fabric shopping the other day...(Oh no! Not again you say!).
My darling Mum made this cute envelope clutch for me from retro style fabric. Perfect size for nights out on the town. The lining is a funky green with purple spots. Thanks Mum!
And check out this little coin purse I stitched myself! It was the first time I sewed a zip too. All by hand as well. The kit came with Mollie Makes magazine. The orange pouch is the snug little home for my mobile phone.
Oh would you look at that-I'm a poet and I don't know it!

Childhood Fun
I am the oldest grandchild out of nine and the youngest is only six months old. My brother is the only grandson, all the rest are girls.
Happy Father's Day!
Remember a couple of months ago the photos I took around my grandparent's farm? Well that was winter and now it is spring. Look how much the wheat has grown!

Darkest Minds
Just a quick post on my new favourite book series at the moment by Alexandra Bracken. The first and second novels are called The Darkest Minds and Never Fade respectively. The third should be coming out in the next few months I think!
Braided Wonder
This is another hair style I found on A Beautiful Mess blog ( http://www.abeautifulmess.com ).
It's a side braid across the top of my head that I wear with my long locks in a side pony. I mostly wear my hair out but some days at work when I'm dancing around with the kids my thick long hair makes my head and neck feel hot. So this do is perfect for those days.
The style works best on unwashed hair. I brush my hair out and creat a side part. I grab a top section of hair around the right ear and start braiding across the top of my head towards the left ear, picking up bits of hair on the side closest to my face only. Once the braid reaches my left ear I tie my hair in a side pony.
It's not very difficult but you do already need to know how to braid.
Have fun!

Red and Black
A couple of months ago I started a new job as a children's librarian in the city which involved me relocating from the small beach side city I lived in. Now instead of a uniform I get to wear 'smart casual' to work. I thought I would do a few fashion posts over the coming weeks on my favourite outfits I wear to work.
I love teaming red and black together. I think the combination is striking. As you will notice I love my colourful stockings. I also think it's a nice touch as I work with pre school children who are only leg height!
This is a lovely high waisted skirt with a cute flouncy ruffle along the bottom. I love the black top with the white crochet lace along the top-it's very elegant. A red cardi is a must when it gets chilly and red stockings and black boots complete the outfit. The whole outfit did not cost much. The skirt is from Kmart and top from Valley Girl (I have the same top in light grey and blue as well), stockings and boots are from Target.
Thank you to my little brother Leigh who is playing the photographer!
